You can probably drop that side of the cradle and pull the side cover off once the trans is dipped down. Then the wiring harness should be right there on top of everything.

Just to give you a heads up, you may have to pop out the drivers side driveshaft. To get the cover off all the way.
Also, that sidepan does hold alot of fluid, so be prepared to catch it.
This is what it looks like when you take the cover off.

I had a similar problem with the wifes Transport. I fixed it by replacing internal wiring harness and all 4 solenoids. I did it without lowering the cradle or removing trans in the minivan, but it was a PITA! I found a company in Florida that sold me everything for about $70.

So the transmission came apart today. Turns out it has been chewing up some metal and spitting it on the PWM solenoid. Thats what was causing it to ground out and blow fuses. I am going to replace the PWM solenoid and drive it for a while because I can not afford a transmission rebuild at the moment, maybe never. I was quoted between $1600 and $1900 to rebuild the transmission but I can buy a whole Bonneville for that. Anyone know what it costs to rebuild one of these transmissions yourself? I might try to find one and rebuild it myself and have it ready for when this one goes out for good.

Nice to know you got it. Congrats. Not the easiest thing to find the confidence to do and tear into a trans.

I'd pick up another off Car-part etc and put it in if needed. I've gotten them from $175 and up. A basic overhaul kit costs usually around $100.

Bill, if he'* going to rebuild it, why not go for the master rebuild kit?

Sure... aren't they around $100-$200?

One thing to keep in mind though is there will be some special tools if he does the upgrades etc. Like to fix a sloppy TCC bore .

So where is a good place to get the rebuild kits? What special tools are needed? I have a lot of tools so might have most of what I need.

The only thing I had when I tore mine completely down was basic hand tools. An engine stand does come in handy to make flipping this 200lb monster around alot easier.
Torque wrenches. Gonna need one.

Standby for PM....

Not sure on the rebuild kits. Gonna have to Google around or Bill might know of a place to get them.
