Default I got the message!

Well after reading all the posts *Thanks Guys !* and doing some pricing, this is what I found out... Keep in mind, I have no shop or cover.
Cost at a dealer for replacement of manifold and upper / lower gaskets, oil and coolant - $810 for parts and labor + tax, which I could stomach IF there was no damage to the lower end.
So IF I were to go with a good used engine and swap it in a non dealer shop, $2,000 if I am really lucky. The cars overall value here is just over $3,000 by owner pricing.

I think I better cut and run! Sell the car with the 3 week old new tires for (?) as a parts car that needs an engine. All else is ok and in fair or better than fair condition.
I had a couple of replies before on this forum interested in the car, but it wasn't a SSEi, I never said it was either.
Oh well, up for sale it is, I just can't see paying $50 to send it to the scrapper!

Thanks again guys, it'* FOR SALE now, best offer!

Shop around some more. Both of those quotes are about twice what I had to pay on each repair. If I remember right, I paid about 2 grand for an engine and a tranny...

Or not (sorry). I looked up my blown engine thread, and it was 2 grand for just the engine....
