Electronic Struts

Electronic Struts
I recently read the tech article concerning the diagnosing the electronic struts. I am experiencing the problem described where each of the suspension option lights on the center console are illuminated. I have a couple of questions regarding this article:
1. Does this procedure work on '94 models?
2. What is a "CCR" as described in the article?
2. Is it true that the electronic struts can no longer be purchased?
Also, my air pump doesn't turn on anymore to air up the rear shocks. Does anyone know of a diagnostic procedure for the electronic level control system?
Thank you,
Larry Swartwood

Answer
1. Yes it does
2. Computer Command Ride (TO control the suspension for drivers desire. Perm Ride stifens struts while Touring Ride is normal suspension mode)
3. Correct. You can get an alternative strut called Monroe SensaStrut for you car. willwren has an article and I will be getting mine soon as well

Why is CCR lost? It is my understanding that CCR and ELC are autonomous systems. For instance, my '93 had only ELC and incorporates an air pump and air shocks. My '94 has both. The thing that CCR adds on the '94 is computer control of solenoids contained within the front struts.
Can you explain a little more please?

you are correct there was no ELC in 92-93 94 was the first year that the CCR was an option. CCR is a problem on our cars, causes headaches and really does nothing. When a switch is changed from perfromance to touring, the passengers do not feel a difference

My STRONG advice is that the CCR should be ditched and bypassed. Most of us can't afford the replacement struts.

At the bottom of that page is a link to instructions for bypassing CCR.

those CCR struts are $900 and up! I went to the dealer in 2002 when my 97 ELC went out. I had a warrenty with the car and luckily it was just $50 out of my pocket. But if I didnt, I would have missed a couple of notes
