Electrical weirdness/BCM??

I'm in the middle of a similar situation on my 99ssei. Last winter while in Mnpls, my power sunroof decided it was nice enough day to be open and did so on it'* own. I was to eventually able to get it closed and pulled the fuse. I took note that the dome lights weren't working after that. It'* finally nice enough now that I put the fuse back in to test it out. The sunroof is working fine, but the dome lights still don't work.
I suspected the BCM because everything happend at once and I think it'* the possible cause for my air bag light to be on as well. In the FSM there'* a procedure for testing the BCM. Put the system into diagnostic mode by turning on the key, holding down the door unlock button while turning the headlights on and off 6 times. The system will bong to let you know it is in diag mode, and should repeat codes 1, 2, and 3. Mine is not setting a code 2 which does run the dome lights. Could be a wiring issue, I checked the input voltages and they all were good. For $40 I got a used BCM ordered, cheaper than me wasting time tracing what probably is not a wiring problem. I put one of these in my 93, too for keyless not working, and read of several people having issues with the BCM'*. BCM should be here later this week so I'll post if it fixes it. The 93 has been acting up again with the same issue at times, but not bad enough to replace it.
I think I had to take it to the dealership to resync the transmitters too, now that I think about it. What a pain.

A4P, in the 92-99 cars the BCM mainly controls/monitors the lights and door switches. That'* what the bong test checks.
Sunroof is not hooked into the BCM at all. Most likely the motor of switch got moist and actuated.

New BCM fixed my no dome light issue. I snagged a superceded part from an Olds. Didn't have to reprogram the transmitters. It just bolted in and worked. Air bag light is still on, so still more to do there. I agree Bill - there was snow on the sunroof that could have melted down and shorted something temporarily. Probably the motor as I pulled the switch when it occured and was dry. Note to snow shovelers- keep your sunroof clear of ice and snow.

The RFA controls the remote'* and therefore swapping a BCM shouldn't effect the remotes. Airbags also have their own controller which in 92-99 is mounted under the passenger seat, under the carpet. A great place for any water on the floorboards to flood it and mess it up.
BCM controls the lights and yep...understandable that it could fix a light issue.

Yes, I was thinking BCM from the start, but my foglights will be on on really dim withe the car parked...so I was inclined to think wiring, ground or relay for that part of the issue. I have had water back up in the headliner from the original sunroof seal and pillar drain blockage so I'm sure that is a contributing factor too. It hasn't done anything in a week or so, so I guess I just wait and see if it screws up again.
Thanks Guys!!
