Draining the radiator

Draining the radiator
I have a 93 SSEi and have been having false low coolant warnings. I would like to drain enough coolant to examine the sensor. I'm having trouble finding the drain valve or plug.

I just removed mine yesterday (had to replace the thermostat).
You might have to use a pair of needle nose to break the plug loose. It'* kind of tight to get a hand in there.

I have a cool cheat for this problem. I have a 3-4 foot piece of vacuum hose sitting around that I feed into the radiator up against the front actually. Barly start it by mouth...barely...then put into a bottle. It siphons just enough in a minute to do a t stat or that sensor you are talking about.
I couldn't see my petcock even after I was told it was on the d/*. Basically impossible to see and it drains all over the frame etc from what I hear.....
My cheater way...no mess, no fuss, no problem.

Wait til you try it.
Neighbors and mechanically inclined friends look at you really funny. So before you do it kick them out of the garage. This one'* between you and the engineers at GM that located the petcock there.
