Door locks won't unlock with button
94 ssei, Tried to search but couldn't find anything. Doors will all lock with either button on driver or passenger door but won't unlock with either button. They didn't work at all and I replaced the door lock fuse and they started locking. Is there a separate fuse for unlock? Which relay is for the locks?
Thanks
Thanks

No other fuses for unlocking the doors.... Could be a bad lock switch or maybe two bad switches. I think if the master switch is shot the passenger side doesn't work right.
Just a thought.

I checked the switches and they are good. I can turn the switch upside down and plug it in and same thing doors lock but don't unlock only it'* using the other side of the switch. Both switches will lock the doors but neither will unlock them.

well, others have mentioned master switch, but you said that you flipped the harness around on the switch, and still got it to lock only, which proves the unlock works?
perhaps wiring is bad?

Yes, I did flip the master switch also and the same thing happened, still locks but doesn't unlock. Both switches installed correct, push lock all 4 doors lock, push unlock and nothing. Both switches flipped, push lock (which is unlock to the wiring) nothing, push unlock (which is lock to the wiring) and all 4 doors lock, which tells me both sides of both switches are working. No I don't have the fob for keyless, I need to buy one.

Hook up with a MI member that has keyless, and program their fob to your car. You can 'de-program' it later if you like after troubleshooting. I suspect the wire from the master to the secondary switch at this point, although i'm at a loss to how you flipped the master switch. Did you use jumpers?

I took the switch panel out with the lock switch and the 4 window switches turned it over pryed back the locking tabs on the lock switch and pulled it out of the switch panel then pryed back the locking tabs on the lock switch mounting base and removed the rocker switch itself from the base, then pryed back the locking tab on the wire connector to unplug the connector from the base, then I can plug the switch (3pins) directly into the connector harness without going through the black switch base, and I can flip it and check the other side of the switch. Hope this clarifies how I did it. You guys keep up the good work, this is an excellent site. Thanks for all the help you've given me just by reading up on other topics.

I had the same problem. On my 95 there is a lock/unlock relay located under drivers seat UNDER the carpet. Assume 94 is the same. Move the seat all the way back and feel for a lump along the raised rail that the seat tracks bolt to. You can feel the relay working as you activate the lock switch. Easiest way to access it is to cut the carpet. It'* easy to take apart and clean the relay contacts. Hope this helps.
