Doesn't turn over without gassing, flashing ECC
THis started happening about a week or so ago but I have been so busy I haven't had a chance to look at it. My car would not turn over, so I gave it some gas and it would start fine. I checked battery terminals for corrosion, and there was some, which I hit with a wire brush but it'* still there. But because of the gas thing I don't think it'* that. Since I checked battery connections, my ECC flashes the outside temp for a couple minutes then resumes regular operation. The only recent work done was new brake lines and recharge of the AC (which all leaked out anyways). Fuel pump and filter are both less than 6 months old. Once it is running it runs perfect without any stalling or any problems whatsoever other than the usual. Toastedoats suggested I check fuel pressure first. I have tomorrow off to spend some time looking at it so I would like to hear what other symptoms I should check for. Thanks for any help guys.

Let'* clarify..
The engine cranks with the starter, correct? It merely doesn't start without adding fuel, right?
If so..yes.. pressure is a suspect.
To start a car it only takes
Fuel
Timing/spark
Compression
We'll rule out compression because it'* working otherwise.
Timing/spark is also there..because once you press the pedal..it'* good.
That leaves fuel.
On the ECC.. there is probably a small fault somewhere that the battery unhooking caused to show up. I think it'* something around 50 drive cycles and it should stop blinking.

The only reason I suggested the TPS was because, mine was out of adjustment (after having the TB off for cleaning) and the car would not stay running without holding my foot on the gas.
Have you had the Throttle Body off recently ?

Sorry it has taken me so long to get back to this...
SOme stuff has happened where my car has been my last concern lately, but now it'* back in focus.
I kept having the same issues where I would need to give it gas to start it, but once it was running it would run like a champ. Well last night I was cruising across town and I felt it get very rough. The check engine light went on. I also saw the battery gauge fluxuate a couple times breifly. Coming home later that night it was still running very rough, and had a rough idle. Engine light stayed on. Going to get it scanned (hoping i make it all the way over to autozone) in a little bit, and will post back here with my findings.
Dutch- I have not had the TB off recently at all.

Sully...if you can get fuel pressure checked.. you will probably find that it'* leaking back down causing you not to have enough pressure for a start. Once running..it'* maintaining enough to run rough.

I don't suspect fuel pressure. If it were bad enough to not start, he'd have fueling issues at WOT.
I suspect when he presses the gas pedal, he'* allowing AIR into the plenum. This would indicate that his IAC is not working properly or is crudded up/dirty, blocking the passage so the IAC cannot regulate the proper amount of air for idle with the throttle plate closed.
Remove the throttle body and clean it and the MAF sensor using the procedure in Techinfo.
(fuel is not added by the pedal being pressed. Fuel is added by the PCM based on the amount of air entering the TB and the feedback from the O2 sensor)

Just got back from autozone. Code was one controlled by the manufacturer, an emissions code. Said I had to take it to a dealer for a better scan, which I will do later this afternoon. Any chance it could be a clogged cat?
