Default Did I fry something?

So I went out to go somewher this morning and on my way my temp climbed

Uploaded with ImageShack.us and was so close to red that the check gauge light poped on, Then I realized that I had water with very little antifreeze in my engine so I'm assuming that half my engine was burning while the other half remained frozen. I stopped on the side of the road to let it cool down and once I heard it gurgleing I turned it back on and it dropped from red to 160ish but while i was driving my heat would not work, just kept on blowing frozen air, so did I mess something in my heating system up when I did that? I'm going to refill the cooling system with antifreeze after all the water drains.

Your heater core is frozen, that will take a while to clear out.

I'm guessing it just got slushy. Otherwise a freeze plug would have popped.

you are very very lucky you didn't do any damage to the block !! keep an eye on the levels for a while and see if you are losing any coolant

I will keep an eye on it, I stopped the car for a little bit and heard all the water starting to slosh and bubble into the block

Update, I looked in my resevoir and it was empty, thankfully its still below freezing out. I saw coolant slashed up on the ac condenser and all over the passenger drive axle... are there freeze plugs in that area that could have leaked sprayed?
