Dex Crap
Thank god I read all the posts and change out the dexcrap. The thermo and rad.cap both had a build up of pinkish orange jell around the springs on them.
That stuff just can't be good for the engine. After finally getting it all flushed out (2 solid hours of water after running a flush thru it) I finally had nice clean water. Changed it to good old fashion rad. fluid and a new thermo. She'* running cooler, hasn't be over 200 since.

You guys both had the original coolant over 10 years?
It'* not surprising it was bad. It is supposed to be maintained at 5 years or X mileage. The old green does not seem to be as much of an issue when it is not maintained properly.

This car had a new water pump alittle over a year ago. It was flushed and new fluid added then. Maybe the previous owner didn't get all the air out of it,but from what I saw I'm glad I changed it.
