Oil pans are usually baffled in high performance cars to keep oil around the pickup during spirited cornerning, or in drag racing, to keep the oil from climbing up the back of the pan during extreme acceleration.

If the car came with a baffled pan, that'* what I'd replace it with, pointing out that the factory engineers never put in anything that'* not needed.

Seriously, how much can a new one be at the dealer or GMPartsdirect.com? Surely the peace of mind is worth a few bucks.
