custom gauges in A pillar location
What do you guys think of a lotek 2 pod a pillar for the 92-97 bonneville? Domestic Performance offers it. But won't build til 30 have been bought. Only 1 has been bought so far.
I think it would be a very cool think to have for our cars. I've been doing some thinking on what gauges could be placed in the pods. Well I came up with a transmission temperature gauge and a voltometer. I know my 92 se had a voltometer but now that I have my 94 ssei, it doesn't have a voltometer anymore :( . We could all set out and research some gauges as well and find one that has the orange/red glow and that would fit inside the pod.
I do know that there are instructions on the techinfo page on how to install a transmission temp gauge. I also emailed the author and asked if he had any pics of the process. Seems fairly simple on the whole. Also, a voltometer doesn't seem tremendously hard either. Although I don't know how to do it. Maybe you could offer some help!
Basically I want to see what kind of feedback this gets and if alot are interested, then we can all buy at the same time and the 30 quota will be met!! The pillar is fairly cheep too, 46.99 I believe in USD.

I'm in on the buy, too, although I haven't pitched cash in....I will. And Ty TRUSTS me.
The two gauges going in mine are the same. Trans temp and voltmeter. We can go it together after we get the pods if you want.

sounds good will. I want to try and find gauges that somewhat match the dash lights. I think this will be a fun project. I just need a little more info on how to do the transmission temp gauge.
I will begin looking for gauges now. Hopefully we can get the number on the web page down to 0 from 29.
PS. Does domestic performance make any color we want? I hope so, I need tan.

Look into the GP pods the Bonneville ones will most likely be the same diameters. Don’t worry the sizes they use are standard sizes so you will be able to get any kind of gauge you want. You can now purchase items on the site by check or money order and this is a good way to show your intent to buy the product. I am in the process of looking into gauges and the best product to offer. I will not offer the gauges for the Bonneville until the production of the pillar is underway. Now comes the nasty part. If for some reason we are not able to get the pillar pods up to 25-30 purchases or find another company willing to do a mock up then I will offer the add on units. If this happens I already have a company lined up and Lotek will be dumped.grrrr

You can purchase them through check or money order to show your interest without dropping actual money. Once the quantity # has dropped to 5 I will ask all who have purchased through check to send in there money. Then based on the colors requested from the people in the order I will determine the colors of the pillars. At this time everyone will have to purchase a pillar (with check or money order option) before they can be involved.

I know no problem. I will make them for the 98-99 but first I want to complete this run so Lotek will have an experience with us. I have a solution for you if you want a custom solution. It will end up smooth and will require you to paint it but I can help out if you contact me. I will be making a group order for the 98-99. ill let you know when it comes up. Contact me via E-mail I have a few other ideas for ya.
