Couple of issues 95 SE
I recently purchased a 95 SE for my oldest daughter , It has a couple of things I need to fix and I was wondering if anyone here can point me in the right direction.
1st issue is that the car is killing the battery. In about two days I pulled the fuse for the interior lights and it has seemed to stop the problem .
I have checked every light I can find and none seem to be staying on. I did find the lighted visior on the DS was staying on when I got the car but diconecting it has not helped.
I did realize that the "twilight sentinel" is not working could that be the problem?
2nd issue is the daytime running light do not work , no light on dash and no lights up front. is that circut controlled buy the twilight sentinel as well?
last the trans will slip going into overdrive under normal load.
it wont slip at light throttle or heavy throttle just normal driving. when I say it slips just before overdrive kicks in the rpms flare abotu 300 -500 and than it catches overdrive.
those are the only three issues I have with this car , Any help would be apreciated

Thanks for the quick reply
1. I will check the circuts one by one (good idea ) is there any way to get to the intierior light switch to disconect it? this way I can check that circut .
2 The car is a US version, the owners manual said that the Twilight sentinel had some something to do with the daytime running lights so I figured if I have the switch I must have DRL'* too.
the car has only 88,000 milles on it and was VERY well taken care of , is 88,000 miles the norm for trans problems on thses cars?. Also the trans does not wait to get hot before it slips into OD.

Cabz...welcome..
Being a US version..there are no daytime running lamps. That was not put on US cars until 1996.
On the issue of battery drain. I'm not positive by any stretch, but there is an issue you need to know about. All 95'* we have seen with twilight sentinel have a headlight switch/connector issue.

My experience is one of about 10 in the past 2 years on this club. It has worked out to every 95 that seems to have any light related issues has a melted connector/switch. I would pull the swtich and look it over first as a precaution.

I did not see the door button for the inteirior lights , I will look again . I thought the switch might have been part of the door latch.
I will definatly check the headlight switch, as soon as I figure out how to get the darn thing out .
I need to get a service manual some time soon
Also I will give the trans cooler a try , The old owner was a little old lady ( And I know this for a fact ) she drove the car only on occasion so I dont think she beat it all that hard. I called a trans shop and they said something about a vacume modulator? coyld this be an issue?
Thanks for all the help

The modulator has a bit to do with the shift quality as it controls the line pressure.. But it does not control shift timing... It may simply need a fluid and filter change if its never had one.. And adding a cooler for it here in FL would be a good thing.. These transmissions get too hot down here and the cars computer does monitor the tranny temps and will go into a limp home of sorts if it gets to 260F... 230F is not hard to do at all in the summer, and by then its cooking already.. With the cooler My 95'* trans runs at about 150-180 with temps in the high 90'*..
Let us know when you get the lighting issues figured out...
Also does this car have Illuminated entry and or keyless entry?

Iluminated entry? as in when you pull the outside handle the int lights come on?
I dont know about the keyless entry , I didnt get any remotes . But there is a sensor bubble up near the windsheild in the dash near the center

Might be among a few things to check...
But like Bill Boost said its important that you check that Light switch as the Twilight switch for 1995 had some issues that would melt the switch connector and wires... a series of 95'* were recalled for this issue..
That Bubble is part of the Twilight system IIRC.. Also to determine if the car has keyless entry look on the spare tire cover for the Regular Production Options list, look for the Code AU0 <----- That would be the code for the keyless entry system..
Let us know how you make out on the headlamp switch..
