cotter pin problem....help

I could figure out how to load pics to post but i put them on my hompage click on link below. the red line in the first pick shows the cotter pin direction since it is hard to see. Also as for just braking the pin when i crank on the nut the rod twists putting pressure on the ball joint, can i pop the grease sack if i crank on the nut too hard? thanks guys!

The second pic is kinda blurry but the two red lines are pointing at the end of the pin.

Try using a punch to tap it out.
