Hi I have replaced all of my upper, lower, and throttle body gaskets very recently and for some reason I kind of still smell the presence of burning coolant. My water pump just got replaced too. I dont see any leaks whatsover and I thought maybe it was just old coolant residue burning off of where it dripped. Im still a bit worried though because sometimes when I turn the car off and look under the hood there will be a slight bit of smoke coming out of the air filter and from what I remember I think it smelt a tad like coolant. Where else could there be a leak? I was looking at opensourceguy'* sig pic and it shows his cylinders and I saw there there were coolant passages under the cylinder heads. Could I have a leaky gasket there or do those gaskets not really leak? Im sure I could do the job but I want to know where else it could be leaking so that I can maybe fix it. Thanks buddies! Oh and its not the radiator cause thats new.

As a "last resort" you should be able to take it somewhere and get it pressure tested. Then you'd know for sure if it was leaking, and probably where...

Do you have a measurable coolant loss? If so, how much do you lose in how many miles or hours of operation? Lots of times, in cold weather, coolant will seep as the rubber hoses get cold and stiff. Where the upper rad hose attaches to the thermostat housing is a common spot for a seep.
