Converter locked, add throttle = surging

Well whatever it was it went away.
I can pretty much assure it'* not the torque converter anyways because I had a flush done the day before, and given her about 80 miles of freeway driving, and everything shifted, engaged, and disengaged perfectly. Launches were funky due to my idle.
Again, unless it pops up again when it warms up here this weekend, i'll chalk it up to the PCM in WTF learning mode.

I bought my 95 recently and had a tranny flush done. Now it seems more prone to downshifts while on cruise control and going up slight grades at highway speeds.
She'll be running about 2 grand then up to 2500, then if the grade is long enough, to 3 grand. Doesn't seem to be enough grade to cause this. Overall it likes to downshift more.
New plugs and wires, autolites. Is this anything like what you guys are talking about with surges during OD and tcc lock-up? Or are you getting actual acceleration surges, G-forces, because my downshifts don't really bring on a g-force surge. Just a lazy old motor? 156K.
I got other issues too that I've posted before.

Surging as in the revs go up and down within 1-200 RPM and very noticeable with my exhaust setup.
Well, guess what came back yesterday, it might be coil packs because as the car is still cool and into a new run, it'll go just fine, but once i'm in an open loop and warmed up it'll do it again.
As mentioned above i had a stored code 42 when i first hooked up the laptop scanning 2 weeks ago.

My 95 did this when it reached 98K miles. Yours may be a coil pack problem but mine was worn plugs. I thought it was my tranny too, at first, until my brother rode in the car with me and laughed at it and ask when was the last time I had tuned it up. When I pulled the plugs out I gauged them and found they were at .085 I replaced them along with new wires and that fixed it.
I just replaced my Ignition module recently because of a mis-fire at any and all speeds, engine temp didn't matter. Found no spark on the first coil bank. After replacing the coil it still had no spark on that coil. I replaced the module after that and that fixed it.
I have replaced all my coils packs do to rusted post. The only reason that I found they were rusted was do to a tune up at a later time. So I replaced all of them. The tune up at that time wasn't do to any drive-ability problems, I just didn't want a repeat of what happened before (letting it go to long). I have not had the experience of actually having a bad coil. I found the coils cheapest at Auto Zone for 20.99.
Good luck with it

Plugs are relatively new NGK TR-55 ix with 15k miles perhaps, gaps triple checked, torqued in properly, and plenty of dielectric grease.
I'll pull them this friday morning if I have time @ the 'rents to see if I find anything amiss.

Hey!!!!!!! When I did my plugs and wires the 1-4 coil had really rusted posts. I just scotch brighted and lubed with di-electric grease. Maybe that is the source of my ills?
don't mean to hyjack....just fits my troubles. Rusty coil posts is a bad sign?????
