Thanks to all you guys with suggestions, I really appreciate it.
I got a front end alignment, although I was reluctant because of the fact of possibly needing another after fixing the clunk...and the mechanic discovered a missing washer on a mount. It must have rusted out. The bill said $20 for repairing a "subframe mount". The clunk has never returned, and I am more than happy. With this comes a disappointment...I have straight steering, and no clunk, but I now have a rattling front right suspension. This is a common problem sound heard in most vehicles, I know cuz I've heard it a thousand times. I just got new struts, and this sound has never been there, until my clunk was repaired. I returned to the mechanic and he doesn't know what it is, besides that, it may be the strut(*). Scratch my head, and now I must have my girlfriend take it in for me during the week (she took it in for the alignment and repair)...and get opinions...again. UGH!
