I just ordered some ceramic breaks for my ssei ..and i was told this is a performance upgrade so i figured i'd spend the extra $$ and go for it. What exactly do these badboys do for me? ..besides last a little bit longer?

Apparently they handle the heat better and no brake dust how cool is that

I can dig it. I'm gonna get them for the next car. Lemme know how they work for you. I think Bill Wren uses them on his monster car I need a comparative assesment before I put them one.

Did you buy Raybestos? (sp?)

Ceramic pads are also good rotor-killers. I strongly suggest getting some performance rotors to go with them. You will sooner than later! The ceramics, with the right rotor, will actually bite harder rather than fade under extreme braking.

I'm running Raybestos Quiet-stop ceramics on Ty'* RSM rotors. So is Tim. Both of us are really happy with that combination. Do NOT buy drilled rotors.

No complaints whatsoever, and you know how I drive. Almost as bad as Hector

It'* the rainy braking that is really amazing. The slots really do the trick.

Actually ceramic pads on a bonneville unless it is a 2000 or newer is bad, I work selling Raybestos brakes, and in our application catalogs there is a apecific footnote that semi metallic pads are to be used, the ceramics do not dissipate heat as good as the semi metallics and they will eventually warp your rotors, I put quiet stops and Raybestos Brute stop severe duty rotors on my 97 SSE and a month later, the brake were blue and had small cracks in the rotor face and I never really drove it too hard. TRUST ME, if you do not believe me, check with Raybestos. if you want the best pads get Performance Friction, or Raybestos PG Plus pads. Raybestos has the Brute Stop drilled/slotted rotors that work and look great.

So I'm understanding that you shouldn't do one without the other?

If you want the benefits of ceramic pads, then you need slotted rotors or a rotor that can handle the higher performance output of these ceramic brakes?

The RSM rotors have no discoloration or any other flaws after a few months (how long has it been?) of hard use, including a 140+mph stop during the break-in cycle. I know for a fact that the Raybestos Quiet-stops will kill a stock rotor. GTX is right about that. The RSM'* were bred for them!

Well for Canadians out there! I also offer RSM'* Rotors & for the same $$$ as DP'* too. The only exception is I sell individually & Ty sells them in pairs! The price is the same if you do the math though!
