Canister Purge ON (all the time!)
I bought the EFI Live V4 scan tool and am having a great time with it, looking at all the data flow from the sensors.... It helped figure out the P1361 error and clears codes easily. Then when another code popped up I was concerned until I saw it was just the PRNDL switch code (I have the console kinda out since I'm working on carpet pads and carpet). I love scan tools! Anyway, one thing bothers me: it shows "canister purge" as being ON all the time when the car is running. Is this normal ?

Did you get cables for laptop from them too or you bought it separatelly ?
I downloaded their evaluation version but I don't have cables from my OBD to PC serial connector.
Actron'* cables don't fit.
I saw one site, but they want $80. Just plain rip-off.
There was one person here on BC who was making these cables, but I didn't get answer on my PM to him.
Regarding your canister purge I don't remember for sure ,but I think when I scanned my car purge was on too when car was running.
Thanks in advance for info.
EDIT: This is from FSM:
The PCM pulses "ON " the solenoid to allow purge when :
1. The engine is fully warm.
2. The engine has been running a specified amount of time.
3. The IAT reading is above 50 degree F.

I bought the cable from OBD Diagnostics. I think it was $65--very expensive for two wires, a USB end and an ALDL end! I don't know what'* under the shrink-wrap on the USB end though.
