Can the swap be done?
I have a 93 SSEI that I really love, but its got high miles and needing serious attention. Body and interior are perfect, but with 280K on the motor and tranny its getting weak, uses a quart of oil a week and supercharger is shot.
I just baught a 97 SSE supercharged bonneville the other day at the salvage auction. It was hit pretty hard and made the car unfixable. It runs good and has only 67K on it.
Now woudl it be possible to swap the 97 series 2 motor into my 93 Series 1 car? I noticed under the hood is identical other than the motor, and the interior and dash are the exact same. Other than some creative wiring would everyhting swap over?

It can be done, and you have started going about it the right way.
The complete subframe can be dropped on the donor car and transplanted into the 93. All wiring should be used. You will also need to replace the dash wiring, as well as fuel pump and gauge cluster I believe due to differences in the fuel level voltages. Since it is a 93, you'll probably also want to swap over the ECC unit and controller to have the selectable climate control. You'll need to keep your dash since 93 had the hand release for the e-brake and the 97 had the foot pump one, unless you want to swap that over.
Basically, the body'* are exactly the same (shell wise) and you are just going to be transplanting the internals.
Good luck with it. Let us know how it goes. The Factory service manuals for both cars will be invaluable for this project to be able to look up differences.

Dash wiring doesn't need to be replaced. :?
Search on Frankenbonne... a 97 drive train dropped into a 90. It'* not that bad, there'* a bit of wiring...but nothing bad at all.

Because all that wiring is not the dash wiring. The dash wiring only brings the signals from the main harness to the cluster, radio and HVAC.
The wiring you are talking about for the pcm is part of the harness that runs from the headlights to the tail lights. Randy didn't touch that wiring. He adapted from the engine harness into the firewall to the existing wiring.
