Default Can I put an electronic climate control in a car with manual

I was just wondering if I could put an electronic climate control in my bonneville. It currently has the manual kind with the three *****. Would I have to get a computer to go with it if I did or is the whole system completely different?

Thanks

I think it'* completely different. I think you have better things to do with your life.

You'd be looking at changes to the dashboard wiring, the HVAC hardware and ducting _in_ the dash, the controller box (i.e. the electronic display and all the innards), almost certainly some components under the hood (do Bonnevilles with manual HVAC controls have an external temperature sensor down by the radiator support?), and God-knows-what-else. I don't think you'd get much reward for all the effort and expense you'd be putting into it, assuming it could be realistically done in the first place.

Thanks acg_ssei,

That is the info I was looking for. I had no idea if it could be done. I think I agree when you say

You're welcome. I don't mean to pile on here, but just for the record in case somebody else comes across this topic, I forgot to mention that there'* also an inside temperature sensor assembly that you'd need to add: a little gadget that installs behind a grille to the right of the lighter, so you'd need that, plus the gauge cluster faceplate molding that includes the grille, plus the aspirator tube behind the sensor which uses a vacuum source to draw air in past the sensor so it can get a reading, plus whatever the aspirator tube connects to inside.

Basically you would need a ton of parts out of a donor car, to the extent that it would probably be easier to just fix the donor car and drive that instead.
