bumper mount rotted out

There was a square tube that runs parallel to and holds up the rear bumper on my 98 SSE. It is so rotted out that I am surprised that the bumper has not fallen off. Anyone else ever have this problem?. It looks replaceable, but it is just a matter of figuring out what the part is called and then finding one. Can anyone help? jim

Yours sounds worse than mine.
Have you tried a local used parts yard? That'* where I'd look first.
It'* called a bumper support or officially the "impact bar". Part number 25669449

Thanks for the information lash. Mine is rotted 10 times worse than the picture. The bracket in the picture goes into free space on mine, in fact both of the brackets do. I will try an on line search first to see if there are new ones available and then call some local bone yards to see what they have..[/b]
