brand new bum fuel pump?
I need help figuring this one........Afew days ago, the fuel pump on my 97 se started buzzing pretty loud..(143000 miles) , so i bought a "master" brand pump and filter, yanked the tank, installed it, and all i get is 11 psi. SO, threw a new filter on, and the regulator is only a few months old and has been o.k, but i used another one that is still good, and no change.
SO, i checked the lines for leaks and crimps, found none.
SO, i pulled the tank again, and inspected the pump just to be sure I didnt screw something up, installed it with no diffrence. 11-12 pounds. It tries to run of course, for a few seconds. The pump primes up for a few seconds until 11-12 psi. it runs at startup with no diffrence.
Could I be simply looking at a Brand new Bum Pump? if i am, Im afraid i may get a bit Irate at the folks of advance auto. Anyway any ideas would be regarded as most noble..... :?

It does sound like you may have a bad pump.
I would start off by being civil with the folks at Adavance. It'* been my experiences that the folks at Advance are tough enough to deal with.
For those more critical parts (not to mention labor intense to install), like a fuel pump, I stick with AC Delco. They do cost more, but worth it in the end, IMO.
