If it was a proportioning valve then it wasn't doing anything cuz i got up to 35-40 and slamed on the brakes and it stoped straight....
HHhhmmmm Did i just screw my brakes up???? or sense its stops fine i should be ok????

Please do not throw that part away see if you can blow through it.
I just don’t understand why GM put a proportioning valve to just the right rear brake.

Bandit, I would replace that part just to avoid any future problems you may have.

yes they are proportioning valves. they are on both rear brake lines. yes you need them.
I have 2 in my tool box. But they are about 30 bucks to buy new.
That is right where my brake line burst was.
