Ongoing issue, was wondering if there is some resistor in the switch circuit that would cut off the engine when the key is released from the start position.
I was talking to a guy at work and he said gm'* got some sort of setup that "when the key is turned, engaging the starter, it sends a voltage to the coils, then when the key is released it switches from the starter to a resister line to the coils" and that might be the problem.
Is this possible with this car?

When I turn the key to the start position, the engine turns over and starts.
No security light flashing, gauges seem to function fine.
Engine rpm goes up to 800 - 1000 quickly.
I release the key from the start position, engine dies.
Have checked cam sensor, crank sensor, EGR, Canister purge solenoid, MAF, TPS, TCC, ICM, ECM, wires between all these, and the relays and fuses.
The spark plugs are all firing, air flow is unrestricted, and fuel pump is working correctly.
I am thinking it might be something in the ignition/starter/safety switch wiring.
But wiring diagram is kind of vague.

When you turn your key to on, everything lights up? Your SECURITY light comes on for 3 seconds and then it goes out? Then you turn to crank, it starts, and then dies?
Checked for codes? After you release the key and the car dies, check all fuses for power....if you find a few of them without power, could be a bad leg of an ignition switch?
Checked fuel pressure with a gage? Try starting with MAF disconnected?
Have someone spray carb cleaner into the throttle body after you release the key, as it starts to die, and see if it keeps running....

onward.....
I have used a pressure gauge on the fuel delivery and it reads 41 starting, 35 running.
Tried disconnecting the MAF, no difference.
Took apart the steering wheel to look at the key lock cylinder and found one of the white wires that goes to the security module had been arching across to the key reminder.
Thinking this was the first sign of something wrong I have run across.
Changed the key lock assembly.
Tried to start the car but it has the same exact issue, no change.
So was wondering now if the arching might have caused damage to the security module and maybe I should just try a bypass of the vats.
Would this be advisable?
Is there some way to find out if the module is bad besides replacing it?
Won't I need another key to match it as well?

If your talking about your 93 Bonneville, then...
Your fuel pressure is the issue.
Read this and see if it applies to you...https://www.gmforum.com/electrical-1...1999-a-303224/
VAT'* disables starting of the vehicle. Whether it be starter, injectors or fuel pump. Once the PCM sees the ok from the VAT'* system it will start. VAT'* isn't suppose to shut the vehicle off. This is a big safety issue if it did.

Checked both ground buses and they were fine, went ahead and cleaned them up a little more though anyway.
Changed the fuel filter, didn't help.
Then I sprayed some carb cleaner in the throttle body while my wife turned the key over and it tried to stay running longer.
So I would assume this could be fuel related now.
I have changed the fuel regulator and it has vacuum at the port.
Since I had pressure in the fuel line at 33-41, would this be a injector issue?

Can someone tell me what the fuel pressure should be when turning the key on, with the engine off, fuel pump priming?
Should the pressure stay in the system or fade off when I turn the key off?
What should the pressure be when the car first starts?
