Bonne won't start!
Got a new problem...
Here'* the rundown:
Last night I was coming home from work when I heard a strange sound (sounded like a lifter knocking, but a little louder) as I turned onto my road. I glanced down at the temp...it was 200. I kept looking at it as I drove the mile to my house and it rose up to 250 or so by time I pulled in. It seemed to lose power right before that noise...
Well, I pulled in and immediately shut it off. I checked to see if my fanbelt broke, but it was fine...I had coolant (though it was a little low). Everything looked normal, so I left it alone for the night.
The next day, I tried to start it and nothing. It turns over, but won't fire. (It splutters sometimes like it'* trying to start) We checked it over, it'* getting fuel and everything...no clue why it won't start...
Any help?

First off.
Check your oil, for level, and see if there is any coolant in it (will be a milky brown color..kinda sludgy)
If there is coolant in there, DO NOT RUN THE ENGINE AT ALL.
Since the N/A Bonnevilles were prone to upper intake failure, i would look there..you said it was a little low..as in..resivor was a bit low..or rad itself?
Next step once you have ruled out coolant in oil, pull your spark plugs...wet with coolant..burnt white? Smell like coolant?
This ofcourse, happens after you rule out all other possible leaks, check under the Throttle Body as well, that gasket likes to leak over time, however, will create a small smoke show if it is.

Sorry, forgot to mention those... I did check the oil. (believe me, I know not to start it...had that problem last time). And the plugs are fine...oh, and the resivor was low.
As for leaks...it'* been parked on concrete all night and nothing new is underneath and nothing else seems to be leaking.
Thanks, though!

You pulled the plugs and have nothing? The first two cylinders to fill with water would be 5&6
UIM would be the fist suspect. However I'm wondering if you lost a bearing. It should start though.

That does sound a lot like when my UIM went. As long as I was moving, the temp was fine. But after I stopped and turned the car off, nothing. After a few tries starting it, it wouldn't even crank.
Hopefully it'* something simpler/cheaper......
