I'm in the same boat as you with the 95. Waiting for the 93 to get back from the trans shop so I can fix the 95.
Pull your glovebox liner out, and look down through the opening with a flashlight while you try to adjust the heat. Try to determine if the actuator is moving, or if the door is broken.

I have rigged mine up with a screw driver and zip ties. Full cold during summer...Add a zip tie for warm (spring/fall). It will default to hot if screw driver is removed.
Until I hear of an easier fix than dash removal, this way works for me.
I could not get any of the dash screws to budge, so I rigged it...

If your door is wandering, it'* probably got a disconnected or broken linkage. The airflow from the hot and cold manifolds is pushing it like a weather vane.
My door is stuck on full cold. And in that classic pic that Randman took, where you can see his actuator with the glovebox removed, I think that was his 93. On my 95, I can't see down there like that. I'm going to do the rip and tear on the dash to get to it as soon as the Zilla is firmly back on her feet.
