alldata doesn't let you view the tsb'*...just the titles.
the ones i'm most interested in are:
92722A FEB 93 Squawk/Moan Noise When TCC Applies On Deceleration
ATRATB286 JAN 95 A/T - 4T60E Redesigned TCC Solenoid
93642A JUN 93 Boom Noise On Light Acceleration
any chance that you could find out what those are?
and also if you can talk to your fellow gods about tcc problems about grinding noises and slipping and if they've encountered anything like that and tell me what they say i would give you undying gratitude

My mistake! Sorry about that, I use a registered AllData program disc at home (CD Service Manual Version) that allows to actually read the TSB'*. I've taken a copy of the one'* your after & I'll try to post them here when I find them, okay?

Well thanx to some friends at my work (Pontiac Dealership) I've managed to scrap up just about every gasket needed for free! All I have to buy is an Exhaust valve for $8.00 CDN. This must rank as the cheapest Head job in history!

My problem with burnt valves WILL happen to you too! The EGRless 3800 engine was/is notorious for burning out valves since the exhaust is hotter then a 3800 with an EGR valve! That is why GM returned in 94 by putting on EGR valves again! :? At first GM emission tested these 3800'* w/o EGR valves & they passed emissions so no need to put EGR'* on! Later when GM noticed an increase in burnt valves on these EGRless engines they (GM) rethought that decision! I've been told that is NORMAL for these engines at around 150,000 KM mark! :( The good news is that you can just replace the valves & install the head w/o doing the bottom end. :? Just some FYI for yah!
From what I hear from you, Id best restore the egr or else. I am surprised that that little bit of egr gas can be so meaningful. Sure do not want problems worse than a leaky plastic manifold. I only wanted to prevent the little pipe from overheating the little input of inert-like exhaust vapor.gas.
Seems amazing that the OEMs know just how marginally they can make things.
I always thought that cruise status gave 'easy-street temps; now am not so sure. Shucks, somebody told of frying the catalyst in a month.
Since I have not a ecm tuning gizmo, its best I back away from plying blind wizard with engine sensors. Beware!
Thanks for the tips. EGR GOES BACK ON TOMORROW. The Lesabre always did and still does run flawlessy. (dont fix it, eh?)

If you are going to block something to attempt to alleviate the UIM issues, I would recommend blocking the coolant passages instead, because you would likely miss the EGR long before you wish you had that coolant passage.
