In Bonnevilles, that'* not the case. From our experience and knowledge on this Forum, we have yet to see a SINGLE FE1 equipped car with ELC. And have yet to see a single FE2 car without.
I will stand by my original statement, regardless of how the “majority of Bonneville’*” are equipped! Any GM car offering these RPO options, could be ordered and equiped with FE1 suspension and ELC, or an FE2 with ELC, or without. (This would include the Bonneville)!

I do not doubt what is said about how the Bonneville’* are equipped, however, it is unfortunate that no more were equipped with FE1 and ELC. Many GM H body cars (LeSabre & Olds 8 do come with this combination and it does make a nice smooth ride and reasonably good handling. I guess that is one reason the Bonneville has never been know for its “ride quality”!

BTW: It might be more accurate to say; We have yet to see a SINGLE FE1 equipped “Bonneville” with ELC, or a single FE2 equipped “Bonneville” without it, however, that does not mean that they do not exist! Time for a survey?

Thanks for clearing everything up. I know the struts can be gone at that milege. It was supposed to be taken sarcastically. I guess you learn something new everyday about the ELC.

HotZ28.....there is no need for a survey...

Please realize that the FE2 suspension (bonneville specific) was ONLY available on the following vheicles:

SOME 95-97 SLE'* and that vehicle had ELC when equipped
SOME of the 92-99 SSE'*.....it had ELC
ALL of the SSEi'*....they had ELC

as you can see, when a Bonne had ELC....it had FE2....you could NOT order the ELC with out FE2 on a Bonneville.....it was part of the package.....

if you get in deep enough in research you see that the ELC was integral part of the ride of the vehicle, and the spring rates associated with the rear springs that differ between the FE1 and FE2

Thanks for making the "Bonneville specific" supension options clearer. I had no idea that PMD had only a specific package option !

hotZ28, this is a BONNEVILLE Forum. It goes without saying that we were speaking of Bonnevilles, particularly since that'* what the topic author owns.
