Amount of Oil at Rocker Arms?
Does anyone know how much oil you should see at the rocker arms when the engine is idling?
Im used to the traditional 350 Chevys where the oil spits at you when its running.
(THen the headers light on fire from the spilled oil)
The 98 3.8 i've got doesnt spit oil at cold idle, or warm idle, ONLY when you rev the engine.
Ive got good oil pressure (40+ psi), but it only spits oil when you rev the engine.
Its not a good spit either. The holes where the push rod contact the rocker arm, bubble with air, and then start to spit when you rev the engine.
Is this normal for these types of engines?
Any Advice is appreciated, as Im dead in the water here, and seeking advice on my lifter tick at 11K miles.

These buick engines aren't like the chevy engines... But you should have a good trickle... Should be able to watch te oil run down the rocker while idling...
I know what you mean about the way the chevys squirt oil...

11K miles on the " New" Remanufactured motor.
I bought a Power Pro 5 yr/100K mile warranty long block asm.
It only bubbles air, when it idles. It does not have a steady supply of oil.
The oil only comes up on the rocker arms when you rev the engine. During idle, it does sit on top of the rocker, but does not run off.
