Alternator brace help!!
i just finished an intake plenum replacement on a 97 NA olds 88 LS..
had to move the alternator out of the way to get to everything..
I'm having a problem installing the metal brace that connects from an alternator bolt to a lower bolt on the engine mount close to the water pump.
the metal brace is too long!! both bolts are connected to the engine block, tried raising the engine a little and doesn't seem to make much difference..
any help would be appreciated.. i have a set of factory service manuals coming in by the end of the week, but right now im a bit perplexed.

The first time I worked on the 3800 * II, I ran into the same thing! Now for the embarrassing part... I spent 2 hours trying to make it fit.
It goes on the upper bolt under the coil pack mounting plate. The cutout end goes on the coil bolt. I hope you didn't spend too long on it.
