I was just giving that as an alternative. If he did decide to go along the route of rebuilding. He could see how much it would be to get a fully rebuilt motor, compared to how much he is going to spend on parts & labor. I beleive a short block for your car is about 500 or so from autozone. I cant remeber exactly cuz its been awhile, but Im pretty sure its somewhere along those lines.

another thing bout the oil pressure i ran the motor with the valve covers off and it was oiling pretty damn good can u buy the oil pressure sensor and how much are they i knew the motor was wore out when i bought it but i didnt think this **** would happen must be my nascar driving style how much yall think this car is worth

1992 se 144,000 miles
green with tan cloth interior
has 2 cig burns one in the seat and one in the door panel not by me i dont smoke
cd player don't work and the radio has static in it the back passegner side window doesn't roll down but other than that everything works on the car
very clean car u think i can get bout 1800 for it if the somebody dont know bout the knocking

Mine was a '91. ALl I got was $500. Dont think your going to get much if you try selling your car with that problem still.

its a good car probelly worth fixing i might have to look into a built shortblock then just put in my top end on it what years motors would fit this? 92-95? are the blocks interchangable along with the top end

i do not think its a rod i bolted everything back together and fired it up when it was cold and it was quiet and a rod does not come and go it will knock all the time i think its lifters now i bought some marvin mystery oil today going to run that with my oil changed and see if that helps lifters are only $8 a piece for it 8 x 12 is $100 what yall think bout changing the lifters

Default pull the pan

I'd drop the oil pan and see if there are any clues there. Low oil pressure could indicate a bad bearing. I had an experience with a 350 pontiac where an oil galley plug popped out and was dumping oil back into the pan causing low pressure. I'm not sure if this could happen in your motor though. If you don't want to drop the pan I'd at least drain the oil though a cheese cloth to catch any bits of debris.
