Default Acceleration problem has me stumped

Unlike all the posts I have found on here, my acceleration problem is a little bit different.
My throttle problem only occurs when the peddle is pushed down to its last 1/4 of travel. It only occurs when the rpm is below 35 hundred rpm. Once it passes that (3500 to around 4700) it runs like a champ. Last summer I had throttle problems, and ended up replacing the tank, sending unit, fuel line, and filter. Then the loss of power occured through the enire peddle travel, but now its only the last fourth. I haven't tried anything yet, but any suggestions would be appreciated.

Sounds kinda like a fuel filter getting plugged. When was the last time the filter was changed, along with plugs and wires?

Dosen't sound like fuel at all. He says it works at higher rpm'* near and at WOT. Fuel filter, pump, and FPR would be a problem at the higher throttle positions, not the lower.

This is a typical ignition problem if you ask me.

Default more info, questions

It is a 94 se. no supercharger... sigh...
the fuel filter was replaced last year.
One thing I read in an earlier post was the cat. Mine is the origional (11 years old,150000 miles, origional exhaust!) so replacing that couldnt hurt. I will probobly start trying to fix this by changing the plugs and wires this weekend, and see what happens. Any other suggestions?

Also, if I were to sell my bonney, which is in great shape except for a dent on the hood and side door (stupid wny deer), and its current acceleration problem, how much do you folk think I could get.
Anyone in the wny area interested?
(new within the last year- tank, fuelpump, fuel line, battery, alternator)
(new within the last six months- rear backing plates, brake pistons, pads, front rotors, pads, pass front wheel bearing, all six cradle mounts).
(new within the last month- American Eagle Ls 215/55/16 tires, alignment).

Does the catalytic converter rattle or sound loud? If you slide under and thump it a couple times, do you hear rattling? That would be the typical signs of a bad catalytic converter. If so most likely it is causing restriction in your exhaust system.

If you still have power at the top end, I'd rule out the Cat, too. That'* when it would be the most apparent.

Default location, location, location....

I'm in western ny, near buffalo.

Oh, and today I was driving my car and tried getting the rpm up and its getting more and more lag through all areas of the pedal. Even with the pedal around a quarter pressed, it still lags until the rpm gets up higher.

Why, why does my wonderful car give me problems and make me hate it sometimes...
