99ssei-- How hard is to replace Struts/shocks...
So the coping of the tires is beeing determined by bad struts. Front ones, so I've changed the rotors, calipers, pads of the front axle, and next will be the struts on the front.
Mr. Willwren said Sensatrack I'm going to go with that. But How hard is to replace them, could I do it? Would I have the right tools?, or pay a mechanic, a family one and have Sears replace the back tires that are copped out for new ones which are under warranty.
Sears will put brand new tires on a vehicle that has bad struts... Great business!!
I F... hate them.
Any Ideas.. I was hospitalized for 6 months and I recently got back and don't have the money for all these changes... I was lucky I had for the Brake system..
Any suggestions Family? I would appreciate your input greatly.
You guys are the pros!!

The struts are not horribly hard to replace.... But it comes in incredibly handy to have air tools at your aid.... I can't repeat the air tools enough...
You will have to have a strut spring compressor, You may also need to replace the strut mount bearings if they creek or pop in any manner...
I'd reccomend a regular Monroe or the Monroe Reflex...
If your family was to replace the struts for you, you will want to mark the strut to knuckle relation, so you can try to reinstall the struts close to the setting they had so that the Chamber or tilt of the wheel will be as close to correct as possible.... Once you have replace all 4 struts you will have to take the car in for a 4 wheel alignment, they will reset the chamber and toe...
I did mine all the way around... It was a headache without air tools...<---- My friend has air tools, can you tell I have been spoiled...

Have you had a pro check the front suspention components for loose/worn parts? I mean, I personally would not trust a sears shop to give me an ACCURATE diagnosis.....after all, they put new tires on without checking WHY the old ones were so cupped.

cupped
cupped tires are also caused by out of balance and out of alignment conditions,
Was the cupping to one side of the tire? I doubt it was the shocks.
Did the old tires shake?
Our Bonnes just don't wear the struts at least not in my case.
Press firmly down on the car bumper. Release and the car should come right up without bouncing.
