99 SSEI keeps poping ignition modules
I sold a friend my old 99 SSEI with 100K on it back in January. The car was cherry perfect at the time and still looks as good, but seems to have developed a few gremelins for him in the last few months. The major thing is it keeps taking out the ignition module, he called me this morning and the 3rd one in 2 months just blew. He said a shop tested the coils and they were good, so where to look next. Its a L67 3800SC.

Where did he buy all 3 modules?
Also have him check for any ground faults to the wiring to the ignition module.
Look for melted or grounded out wires.
The wire loom where the connector is for the module is in a very hot location.
The reason I ask where he had bought the modules is some parts stores sell crap!
