98-Courtesy/pwr mirror circut always on
hello, and let me start off by introducing myself. I got my Bonneville in July of 2012 after selling my first love, a 79 CJ5. I needed something a little warmer in the winter and wanted a 3800. this little gem showed up for $1600 with 173,000 so I picked it up. since then I've done front brakes, rotors, struts, new catalytic converter and a couple small odds and ends.
when I bought it, I was told the fuse had been pulled because the dome lights would always stay on. this also takes out the pwr mirrors. well I finally got around to figuring it out but I'm stumped.
did the bong test, nothing on history
each door gets a single bong when opened and another on closed. same for both front lock switches. It does not bong when the trunk button is pushed (is it supposed to?). Headlight switch gets a bong when pulled into first position but not when pulled all the way out. also gets a bong when dimmer it turned on/off.
when I flip the dimmer back and forth (on-off-on) the dome lights go off. If I do this again, the dome lights come back on. exit diagnostic mode with them on or off and the go back to on all the time.
I also pulled the headlight switch assembly and it appeared fine with no burn marks or burnt smell.
Any help would be appreciated
