I just had my tranny rebuilt and now it is doing that, time to take it back and have it looked at. I replaced everything before I read this thread, coils, plugs, wires, ICM all to no avai. The car does run awesome now though. I am going to add a cooler this weekend too. What is a good size the local parts store has a bunch of them.

Yes, many of us are still battling the chuggle... but we're coming up with some good plans of action in this thread http://www.bonnevilleclub.com/forum/...er=asc&start=0

My list of things to do includes installing my tranny cooler and checking my TPS voltage. I'm hoping to be rid of this problem once and for all.

Well guys heres what I did, I went to the junkyard today and got a pcm outta a buick for $35 (dont know the year) it looked like my year bonnie w/o a roof...lol anyway I put the pcm in my bonnie, and the churggleing(or what ever you want to call it) is almost unnoticeable, though I did not swap eeproms yet, the cars runs great though it does seem to shift a lil harder into second, however I still get a DTC P0740-torque converter clutch failure but the trans temp is reading correctly now, before it would jump temps, I am not sure if it is correct but it gave me a temp of 204F in moderate monday traffic, but it seemed to shift fine, the data stream even said the tcc was engaged :( ....mabe I should get a bigger trans cooler? or bypass the rad? the good news is that I got rid of my QDM4 fault chasing these bugs is like chasing cockroaches!

I wish I could be of more help to you... hopefully a bigger brain will weigh in on the issue. If you're actually getting a code for TCC failure you might require a different fix than the rest of us (i.e. TCC solenoid or something of the sort). I don't know much about it though, so maybe we can attract some attention from a more knowledgable member.

I'm thinking that the excessive heat in my trans is the cause for the tcc failure, but it feels like it engages the tcc, and the scan tool says so, but I have noticed that it does not like to let go, say like when starting an incline, this used to also happen with the old computer, before it went out when I started having this problem. Still not clear if it has to do with the buick prom being in the pcm, I will probably swap them out tomorrow and see if it gets any better :?

That sounds quite similar to the symptoms we've been discussing in that other thread. SSEBONNE4EVA recommends adjusting the TPS voltage, and I plan on doing it ASAP when I head to my parents' farm in a few weeks. I would recommend you take a look at your voltages and see if they're in the proper range. I think there'* a Techinfo article on the "TPS Mod" that should help you out. If not, do a search and you should dig up a couple things. If you're wondering what I'm talking about, click the link for the thread I posted and read through it.

I looked it up for my 95 the acceptable range is aournd .22 to .75 TPS. Mine running about .45

My TPS reads that at idle too according to the scan tool, does your car have this problem too? would it benifit any of us to adjust it? and witch way + or - ?
