96 SSE questions
I'm looking to buy a 96 SSE from OHIO.
It has 124.000 on it, dark green w/gray guts
The questions I had are:
The fuel gauge does not read right the owner said. when the gauge points to 1/4 tank the car is out of gas.
Is there a way to fix that problem?
Also the owner has no key fobs for the car.
Is there a way to look some where in the car to see if it has remote locks?
If it does, where would I go to buy them and program them to the car?
The car does not have the multi power dual front seats or a HUD, but the body is in very good shape as well as the inside and it has leather and a factory sun roof also. the tires are new and the owner claims that it needs nothing.
There asking 3,995 firm for it.
Please tell me what you know about these few questions
And thank you as always for your help

The issue with the gas guage is the fuel level sensor. The pump actually is mounted onto the fuel level sensor. The part is about $300 and doing the change requires dropping the tank. I had the same issue on my 99.
As for the keyless entry. Look at the spare tire cover and look for the AU0 RPO code. That'* the RPO code for keyless entry. If it'* on there, then all you'd need are some replacement key fobs.

Toddster...
Looks like the guys have beaten me to this one.
I agree with them completely.
Check the vin on the tire cover to the windshield. Or use a fused jumper to connect pins 4 and 8 on the DLC connector, turn on the ignition. The locks will cycle through if it has keyless.
Fobs.. There is a fob thread about what year fits which cars. 96 Should be the KOBUT1T I think.....
