smoking
I have not seen any smoke but it was dark outside when the problem strarted. My grandfather came by and looked at it today. While cranking it it made a knocking noise, idled fine and when I revved the engine it made the knocking noise. He use to work on cars a lil when he was able and he said it sounds like a rod. He checked the oil level and said the oil was full and he smelled it on his finger and said it smelled like gas, and that could cause problems with the motor. I dont know but If it is the motor then I am screwed. No cash to fix that big of a problem.

That doesn't sound good at all to me, if you could somehow video-record the car idling and revving, it would be better for the admins/moderators/etc and me to determine what exactly is wrong...

Husband worked till dark yesterday so I will try and get a video today. I wanted to ask, what could cause the gas to get into the oil? I have been having some issues with major gas use.

Say you had a dead cylinder, like a bad plug wire or bad plug...
The PCM would see all of the extra oxygen in the exhaust stream, and its correction for this is to add more fuel to richen up the mix... If the car run too rich for too long you can wash down the cylinder walls and sooner of later the oil will become very contaminated and begin to thin out... This is exactly what happen to Sandrocks SSEi Bonneville and why he got it so cheap.... Had a bad coil and the kid that had it drive it running very rich... It destroyed the bottom end, so much so that we went and got another motor for it as opposed to fixing what we had..
so running very rich doesn't help a motor..
Your family is pretty sure its bottom end?
If thats the case I am sorry to hear that.. I am on Motor #3 Myself and only at 166k

engine
Well not 100% sure. I did inquire on buying a new car and they say if I can get it there they will use it as a trade in. Is there anything i can do to hold it over for about 15 miles:? I heard changing the oil would work temporarily. And of course adding a thicker oil.

Shes a goner
Well Bonnie (yes I named her Bonnie, lol.) will be going to the dealer tomorrow for trade. They know it is screwed and well are about to do the same to me but they are making me pay no money down so its all good. Our first new car purchase so we will get screwed any way. Hate getting rid of her, i loved the sunroof and odds are I will not find one I can afford with one.
RIP Bonnie. lol
