Quite frankly, he'* not going to have an easy time finding an SSEi to get a grille from, nor an SLE for that matter. And the SSE isn't going to be much easier. He'* most likely going to find a donor 94/95 SE at a wrecker.
BonneMeMn, unless you have some magical proof of what you claim, please don't confuse this issue further. The topic author isn't going to know which end is up.

but..... by the looks of the pics the SSE/SSEI grille comes to the bottom of the headlights, and the SE/SLE grille goes past the headlights, so they are completely different heights

First disclaimer:
Some of those grilles posted are modified. Don't be fooled by the color changes of the inserts.
Second disclaimer:
Look at the SE bumpers below the headlights. See the difference? The difference is in the bumper covers, and how they affect the gap, not the Grille itself. This difference is distinctive on the first Alien (silver car).
The grilles themselves are a perfect fit/swap.

My resources show the following for fit but not necessarily an exact duplicate as far as inserts or colors.
A replacement grille for a 95 SE include:
92-95 SSE
92-95 SSEi
94-95 SE (any)
93 SE with H4U option code
1993 SLE is correct about the shape of the insert. SE has honeycomb and SSE/i have the elongated ovals. The pics do a good job of illustrating this and I also have verified with my 93 SSEi and 93 SE parts car.
In summary, the above list will fit but may have a slight cosmetic difference.

right i was just questioning WIllwren in the fact that the P/N numbers are the same for the SE/SLE and the SSE/SSEi, grilles and obviously the SE/SLE and the SSE/SSEI have different grilles, and yes the inserts make a difference

How about we just get some tape measures and digital cameras out?
I've seen an SSE body with the cross style SE grill on CD and it wasn't fitting well at the bottom edge along the bumper. Hood gaps weren't bad.
Just look at them, There'* NO WAY the chrome trim ring on the outside of my style piece would fit above or below the circle of the SSE style.
EDIT: Like mentioned above, the SE do go below the headlights, the SSE might (hard to tell from the angle) but no where near the same. They will all bolt on just fine, but they don't all have the same gaps on the bottom. The difference is apparant with the Hood protector i use. It'* an SSE model i got from someone who totalled their car, the grill section of it is too small, and the fit isn't tip top on the grill area. The shape is different as well.

Jason, all the grilles have been verified and cross-verified by numerous sources, either here in this topic, or offline.
I strongly suspect the cars with issues are missing the front hood seal, or have a thicker piece in there.
GM knows very well what they put on these cars, and GM (as well as other sources) all state that the 94/95 SE Grille is exactly the same as the 92-95 SSE and SSEi. You're more than welcome to continue complicating a simple issue if you want.

Sorry Bill I have to agree with Jason on this one
the Grilles are different lengths, and an SE/SLE grille will not fit on an SSE/SSEi, the SE grille would hit the bumperof the SSE/SSEi and cause the hood not to close
