93 SSE Stalling on Turns and Stopping
I have a 93 SSE with 99K miles. Car developed a stalling problem when fuel tank got low. In right turns or breaking situation the car would cut out. My mechanic replaced the fuel tank (I had a simlar problem with the baffles in the tank when the car was new) and the fuel pump but the problem remains...the tank just needs to be emptier than before the new parts.
Any ideas?

That sounds almost similar to a common problem of 92'* when the fuel strainer was too short. But I believe it was fixed before 93, and any idiot would replace a 12 dollar part connected to the fuel pump when they replace it.
It could have something to do with a bad fuel pressure regulator and the engine doing a "phantom stall" when the engine is under no load. Just an idea.

A couple of answers in one post:
The fuel pump was replaced at the same time as the tank. He said something about the strainer not being there.
And the car stumbles before it quits. Mostly on right turns (entrance ramps for example) and coming to a stop

Yeah, what he said. The strainer actually stores several tablespoons of fuel for moments when fuel sloshes away. So, no strainer is a bad thing in low fuel situations.

Thanks for all the help....the car goes to the mechanic tomorrow and at least I have some idea of what the problem may be.
I am cinfused though....why is the stalling only occuring when the tank gets low if it'* a strainer/pressure regulator issue. THat'* what led me to question the baffles in the tank itself (a problem that has occured when the car was new and in the tank that was just replaced). Has anyone heard of a faulty tank design that allows fuel to move away from the pickup when there is a low tank level...the exact purpose the baffles are supposed to fulfill?
