Default 92 SSEi Exhaust System

Ok yall, so i dont think my car had a cat on it to begin with, cause whatever was there was round, and fell off the other day so i had to straight pipe it for the time being :( It is kinda Throaty now and almost sounds like my granddads buick with the 2.8. I dont want to put a cat back in cause there is no emissions control in this state, what would be my cheapest alt. to make my car have the nice rumble again without spending alot of money. i plan on going to the junkyard tomorow and having one of my buddies there cut one of those things off for me cause ill get it for next to nothing, or is there something else that i can do cheaply to quiet it. i do like the more power it has without whatever was there being there?

You have a '92 so it doesn't have a resinator between the cat and muffler. I don't have a cat and have stock muffler and it sounds ok - lil' louder then stock. If I was going to do an exhaust on it I'l do 3" DP, no cat, 2.5" x 24" resonator, 2.5" Flowmaster 80 Series muffler.

Regardless of whether or not your state/region doesn't have emissions testing, it'* still ILLEGAL to run without a cat in the states. It'* a federal law. It carries stiff fines and penalties, and nifty little rewards for the person/shop that turns you in.

Don't waste your time at the wrecker on exhaust parts. You're just asking for trouble unless it'* from a 98 or 99. Even then, it'll have a limited life.

I suggest adding a resonator. But put a good cat back in ($60ish from www.justmagnaflow.com ) first and see how you like the sound.
