80 Watt Low Beam Bulbs - good idea or not?
With all the talk of HID'*, PIAA'*, Xenon and Silverstars, I noticed that there are 80W 9006 bulbs for sale at JC Whitney and eBay. On eBay you can find claimed color temps of 5000K and 5800K!
Here'* an example -

So are these safe to run in the 1997 headlamp housing or what? And would it overtax the wiring or confuse the headlamp monitor?
Thanks

ok first off dont buy some cheesy knockoff brand that hasnt been heard of........my friend bought some in a japanese box and they melted the plastic clip on it and now they are taped on hahaha........the ones i bought work great havent had a problem yet with them yet and its so funny cuz when i run my fogs (stock halogen) with my white headlights people flash their brights at me thinking that i have my brights on.....the ones i run are legal.......dont go with cool blue they are horrible cuz they are not blue grr waste of $30......if you look into silverstars they are good bulbs but not that great of prices on them and plus they are not that blue compared to the ones i have and also others.......if you want a little tint of blue with it being pretty bright they are good but if you want a deeper blue (looks really white on ground and walls) go with xenon-white headlights like me or something close to that cuz i believe that would be your best bet...

My low beams are 55W Hyper white.. Look great. People have flashed their lights at me too cause they thought they were my high beams. Hahahaaa. I should have turned my Plasma highs on them to show them I didn't.

Purchase an upgrade harness designed for the high output bulbs, It costs about $40 I had a set of high wattage bulbs and melted my wiring harness because of the extra current draw.

Feeling partial to PIAA'*
I'm going to shop for some PIAA'*. Considering how hot it has been around here I won't go with 80 watt bulbs. Plus, I'm a little nervous about buying the nonames on eBay. I see the PIAA Xtremes on eBay too, but I wonder if they're authentic - kind of like buying a fake Rolex in Manhattan, right? I might just spring for the ones at tirerack.com for $77 USD (ouch) - any other recommendations?
Thanks again

OK guys lighting question. What size are the bulbs on a 1997 bonneville for High, Low, and Fog?? Thanks! I put a set of 9007 silverstars on our 99 explorer and love the results, hopefully they should be about 10x better with a non-plastic headlight assembly.
