Default 3.8 heads--- are the SC and N/A'd the same head?

Hello,
I need to know if the SC and NA heads are the same. I have a 1992 SSEi that needs the rear head. Looking for a SC motor is more difficult and the others are a dime a dozen. are they the same? thanks

what about the long answer, what are the differences? The part numbers for valves are the same. the only difference I can find is the head gasket for the SC is different (assuming different for the different compression pistions and the need for the higher pressure in the combustion chamber)

I'm seeing 2 different part #'* for the cylinder heads on the N/A and the */C versions.

*/C=24501418
N/A=24508132

I'm sure one of the GH'* will pop in and give a more detailed explanation. I for one, do not have a */C and this is all I can tell you.

I'm not familiar with the Series 1 motor, but in the Series 2 the injector bosses are in the heads for the supercharged models and in the lower intake for the normally aspirated models. I believe the difference is the same between the Series 1 L67 and L27. The compression ratios are also different (as you mentioned). You simply cannot interchange the heads without extensive modification. You might have to do a little searching, but make sure you use the correct head.

I'm sure a more experienced member will be able to tell you which years are confirmed compatible with your '92.

I also see a part # difference for the intake and exhaust valves, along with...
pushrods
rocker arms
balancer shaft
cylinder head gasket
valve springs.
The list can go on....

Part number 24500363 was used for the 91-92 Model years was the same between the NA and SC'd models

Part Number 24501418 was used from 93-95 and the same for both NA and SC

It may be easier to locate a set of 93-95 heads at this point weather NA or SC'd..

Good Luck
Injector bosses are not in the S1 L67 heads? I guess I was mistaken. Sorry for the confusion.

Thanks for the help, Don!
