1999 olds 88 LS anniversary
I had originally put this post in "other 3800 cars", but then thought since this is the same car more or less, as a bonneville, and not a regal or a grand prix or whatever, that maybe it should be here? If not, I'm sorry.. This car, with 60K miles, sometimes has a sag under light throttle, particularly when pulling away from a red light when just light acceleration. If you homp on it a little, it'* fine. Otherwise, it just feels like it is lacking power. it'* not slight, it'* pretty noticeable. If you don't change throttle position, it will sag for quite a while, maybe 5 seconds or so, then suddenly "catch" and accelerate like it should. This happens mostly only after a highway run (15 mile at steady 70MPH on my way to work every day). Then after a few stop lights once off the highway, she'* fine. Usual things have recently been changed.. Plugs, wires, fuel and air filter, PCV, dorman LIM. Losing no coolant at all. Tranny shifts great. Otherwise, this car is sweet as sugar, and is my 5th GM "H" platform car I've owned, or currently own. according to my digital VOM, there are no dead spots in the TP sensor sweep. All connections are tight and clean, I run a very tight ship. Very anal in this regard. Probably the best thing would be to connect a scanner to it and capture data when this happens, but I don't have one. I'm hoping this may be a common thing, and someone may have some import.. Thanks.. Mike
