As far as the problem goes, I'm stumped :? I've been running 215* in stop and go traffic, 220* at idle for the last few days with the high ambient temps lately.
So, Kurt, is this a recent problem with summer weather or has it been on-going for awhile? How'* the transmission? If the transmission is working hard on the climb, could this contribute to the rising water temps? Do the 98 non-SCed cars have a trans cooler mounted in the radiator?
Mods that may help include fan overide switch as described elsewhere on the site.
Nick, what else besides load could contribute to high water temps, if all the cooling system has been redone and fans seems to be working properly? I know it'* been hot out here and that road up into the Catalina'* is pretty steep, but I would think (hope) the bonnie should handle it.
Hmmmmmmmmmm

a hard time. The car is from Michigan and does not like it here in Tucson. I've had nothing but problems with it since I came down last year.
