Yeah, at 6'-4' 287 its going to hurt. Im wondering if anyone has ever taken this Hva out before. Im going to start with the vaccum lines at the unit first like randman said and then move to checking out the inside of the unit, in hoes I don't have to take it off.
There is a not or bolt towards the top of the hvac unit that Im worried about getting to. If anyone has taken that off go ahead and speak up about it.

Randman took his out and changed it with the dash in. As I remember he mentioned your arm has gotta take a few scratches for the team but it'* possible to get to it all.

Geeeeeze, you do have a rather big frame.
When I removed the programmer from the 97 donor, the dash was alread off so that would be a bad example. When I replaced the programmer on my 93, there was different obstrctions than you have on your car.
I had to first remove the ECM... but yours is under the dash. The idea is to remove stuff from the right of the programmer in order to get your arm up over the programmer to disconnect the small harness going to the air mix actuator. Otherwise, there is only two screws (7mm I believe) and the large, easy-to-reach electrical connector to remove the programmer. IIRC I used a 90* angled screwdriver with a 7mm bit to get at the screws.

Between you and me, if we get mad enough, we could rip the dash out without removing any bolts......

Thanks bud. I bet we could. My actuator arm doesnt move did yous when this problem happened. I changed my mind about pulling this stuff out. Randman said I should check individual lines for vacuum. So I have to buy some connectors and actually cut into these lines under the dash. then patch them up. Does that sound reasonable to you?
Let me know. I sure would hate to hurt it worse.
