1997 ssei randomly falling on face then drives normally
Ok, I have a 97 ssei that drives fine most of the time, but it will stumble every once and a while. The car normally runs fine and when I take a rIght turn it will studder for a few secOnds after I straighten the car up and won't stop untill I get off the gas and get back in it.
This being said I do have an oil lake around the frount seal area and was wondering if that could cause the CPs to fail and if any one had the fuel Pressue numbers for this model car, if so thank you.

Ok, update. Checked the fuel pressure and I'm 40 psi at idle and 50 at wot so that'* good, gas smelt weak though :/ drained tank and filled up at shell hasn't cut out again since but I'm about tO go run it a little, still worried about the cps. Any thoughts?

CKPS will typically be a random stall. Not a bogging/dying type issue.
Pressure BTW should be 48 at idle and 55-60 at wot. However our pumps do get tired and 40-50 is reasonable.

When my CPS first started to fail, it caused what you are describing. On the expressway, the engine would stall and then re-start on its own due to the road speed continuing to turn the engine over. Your comment about falling on its face brings that to mind. When it did that, the tach would stay at 0 RPM until the next time I stopped and restarted the engine.
As the CPS degraded further it would stall right out, and sometimes the engine would not start. For my car, the issues seemed to get progressively worse over a 2 to 3 week period of time until I changed the CPS.

Ok thanks bill, I'll keep an eye on my pump so it dosent crap out on my when i need it.
2k, I'm hopeing it'* not the case but only time will tell. I'm going to see what she dose.
Update on the car it self, put about a 100 miles on it last night with a few hard pulls and she drove like a dream so as of right now it seems that bad gas was the problem, but idk yet

I dont have a scanner but I know someone with a nich one but I'm not sure if it will scan for kr or not. What'* a good all around scanner that would get the job done. There is a lot of stuff the car needs done so I'm makeing a list and takeing car of it as fast as I can. I can list the issues here or I can start a new tread idk what would e best though I just want the car to act like it used to.
