No, if the code is not cleared, and if it is no longer a "hard" code, it will not make the car run bad....I assume the CE light is not on now, it is just a history code.....after so many cycles, if the code does not reappear, it will clear itself....like JW says, it might be another, different problem....

However, if the CE light is still on, that is a different story....

Does it matter that we did the back probe test and what not and it checked out OK?

Also the check engine light is still on. The code has never been cleared since it originally popped up. I haven't had access to an OBD2 scanner to clear it.
