If you have no spark and the engine cuts out. I would say inspect the ignition wiring harness. Check the wires that go to the cam sensor, if they could out of the guide they will rub on the harmonic balancer and cause a dead short. Changing the crank sensor is not to hard. But seeing as this happens when wet I suspect a bad connection. Pull the plug and clean real good.

Not exactly my problem, but it does fall into the crank/nofire section:

Here'* a example of a damaged wire and shows how little it takes to kill the ignition system.

Okay I looked for any damaged wires, its almost 8am.
Nothing yet, but I'll go out again when its warmer.
I'm going to keep posting relevant links while I wait.

Looked at wiring again, I didn't see any faulty wires.
Car did start today too.

Can a scan tool diagnose the ICM or CPS on the spot?
My local shop wants to charge me 97 dollars to do the test that clarifies what it actually is.

Here'* the wires for the cam sensor.
CMP Camshaft sensor
Brown/white CMP sensor signal
Black/white Sensor ground
White/black Sensor ignition positive voltage

Can't locate the crank sensor right now. If I remember right. If you put a ohm meter on the brown/white sensor wire and the the black/white ground and turn the engine you should see the ohms change as the magnet passes the sensor. If that'* the case, it'* good. Same can be done with the crank sensor, but I don't remember which wires.

I seem to recall that 1 in 6 starts not working was a crank sensor, or was that the cam sensor. I can't remember.

Okay. I'll try that in the morning.
I have to get a hold of my dad'* ohm meter again. :p
