1997 Bonneville SSE Squeaks When Turning
I took a '97 Bonneville SSE out for a test drive today, it has 100,000 miles on it. When turning either right or left, there was a very noticeable squeaking sound coming from the front of the car. Didn't matter if I was going slow or fast.
Other than that, I liked the car, but I'd like to know what is causing the noise before pursuing the car any further.
If you have any ideas on this, please chime in. Thanks in advance for the help..

Thanks. The noise sounded like rubber squeaking, but I check the belt to rule that out. Are there any other steering/suspension/front end issues that might cause squeaking when the wheels are turned. I guess if I decide to pursue the car I should have an inspection done just to find out what exactly is wrong with the front end.

Can you have someone turn the wheel while you listen? Is it the tire on the road? Is it under the hood? Is it the linkage? Each has a different fix. So we need to track that down first.

The tire was on the road, I was doing a test drive. If I go to check out the car some more, I will do the testing you suggested. Overall the car seemed to be in good shape for an 11 year-old vehicle.
